Angie Swan Debut EP: Day One

My good friend Angie Swan, a phenomenal guitar player and an even greater individual, reached out to me because she was beginning to record her debut EP and wanted to document the process on film. When she called, I just had an ear-to-ear grin. Not because I got to cover the visuals, be in the studio with old friends, some of today’s most gifted musicians and drink a pair of Old Fashions made by the producer herself. Naw, not that. The smile was because I couldn’t wait to hear her music. Plain & simple, she’s dope. Great personality. Funny. Positive. Resilient. A good friend. I know her record is going to be the aural love child of all that and it was going to be some wonderfully FUNKY isht. Can’t wait to hear the record, but while you wait, here’s a quick behind-the-scenes look at the beginning of the process, “Day One: Laying down the foundation”. The album is slated to drop in Spring2014 and in the meantime, you can catch Angie, LIVE, playing guitar in Cirque du Soleil’s “AMALUNA”, which is currently touring.
